Lady Panthers Extend Win Streak to Three with Road Victory at Quincy

QUINCY, Ill. – The Drury Lady Panthers extended their win streak to three games with a 74-67 win at Quincy on Saturday afternoon.
 
Josie Storey started the game with an open three from Kaylee King. Quincy answered with three of their own. A made jumper and a pair of free throws extended the Lady Panthers' lead to 8-3 two minutes into the game.
 
Quincy tied it up at eight, but Drury regained their lead by the end of the first quarter, 17-12.
 
Audra Pasakarnis converted an and one to start the second quarter and assisted on a Rhi Gibbons three-pointer to grow the Lady Panthers to nine.
 
The Lady Panthers grew their lead to as much as 11 points in the second quarter and entered halftime up 32-26.
 
Drury came out of the locker room on fire. The Lady Panthers started the second half on a 14-2 run in just three minutes of play. During the run, Drury was 4 for 4 on three pointers and 5 for 5 from the field. Storey, Gibbons, and Pasakarnis all scored during the run.
 
Following a Quincy timeout, Drury led by a game-high 18 points, 46-28. The Hawks battled back from the deficit but entered the fourth quarter trailing by 13, 55-42.
 
Quincy native and Lady Panthers freshman Sage Stratton drilled a three-pointer to start the fourth quarter. A Reagan Halliday layup from Stratton extended the Lady Panthers' lead back to 18, a minute into the quarter.
 
The Hawks' late push was cut short as they were only able to get it within six points before the Lady Panthers iced the game with free throws from Rhi Gibbons and Raegan Halliday.
 
GAME NOTES
  • The win improved the Lady Panthers to 5-3 and 3-0 in GLVC play.
  • The 3-0 mark is the 16th time that the Lady Panthers are 3-0 in their time in the GLVC.
  • Saturday's game was the eighth of eight games for Drury in a 21-day span. It was also the Lady Panthers' third of five straight games on the road in the month of December.
  • Drury did not trail the entire game. It is the second time this week that the Lady Panthers picked up a win without trailing, the first being against Southwest Baptist.
  • Drury outshot Quincy 43.5% to 41.9% on field goals.
  • The Lady Panthers shot 60%, 12-20, from beyond the arc. It is the first time that Drury has shot at least 60% from three since January 18, 2025, vs. Maryville.
  • Drury's defense held Quincy to 23.1% from three.
  • The Lady Panthers' bench once again produced, outscoring the Hawks' bench 22-17.
  • Drury's bench scoring was distributed amongst five players: Jazz Gray (5), Talia Norman (4), Raegan Halliday (6), Teague Muncy (2), and Sage Stratton (5).
  • Quincy scored 44 of their 67 points in the paint.
  • Rhi Gibbons recorded her second double-double of the season with 20 points and 10 rebounds. The 20-point performance extended Gibbons' streak to start the season with at least 10 points in the first eight games.
  • Sara Mendel's double-figure streak ended as the junior scored four points and pulled in five rebounds.
  • Kaylee King added 13 points to the win.
  • As a team, Drury out rebounded Quincy 38 to 34.
  • Drury assisted on 63% of their made field goals against Quincy, 17 total. Audra Pasakarnis led the effort with four.
  • Quincy had four players score double digits: Karly Peters (20), Katey Flynn (13), Chomp Danso (12), and Hayven Harden (12).
  • The Hawks blocked six shots, three of them by Hayven Harden.
  • Drury is one of four teams that are 3-0 in GLVC play, but is the only team that has yet to play a league game at home.
  • The win ended the Lady Panthers' two-game skid against the Hawks.
  • Kaci Bailey is now 4-2 against Quincy.
  • Drury now holds a 28-11 record against the Hawks all-time.

"I think we set the tone early in the first and third quarter," said Kaci Bailey postgame, "We need to continue to stay the course. We can't get too high or too low. This is a great win to build on."
 
UP NEXT
The Lady Panthers are off until December 15 when they travel to No. 22 Union for a 5:30 pm tip-off in Tennessee.
