Drury returns home to face Rockhurst
Drury is back at home on Thursday as they host Rockhurst for a 7:45 pm game in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
 
The Panthers are 11-11, 6-9 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and are coming off a 90-72 win at home at Quincy on Saturday.
 
Rockhurst is 15-7 and 9-5 in the GLVC. The Hawks fell to William Jewell, 80-78, on Saturday in their last game. Rockhurst had won three straight before their loss to the Cardinals.
 
Thursday's game is the second meeting of the season between the two teams. Rockhurst won the earlier match-up with a 72-59 win over the Panthers in Kansas City on Jan. 4. Drury led 32-23 at halftime in that game before the Hawks responded by scoring 49 points in the second half. Brian Hawthorne led Rockhurst with 17 points, while Jesse White added 16. Logan Applegate led Drury with 14 points.
 
Drury leads the all-time series against Rockhurst 78-49 (on the court, officially, they lead the series 76-49).
 
The Panthers are at home again on Saturday as they host William Jewell for Homecoming '25 at 3 pm in the O'.
 
Hitting 80
Drury is 9-0 this season when they score 80 or more points. The Panthers added to that record last Saturday when they won at Quincy 90-72. Drury is 6-0 when scoring 80-89 points and 3-0 when scoring 90 or more. The Panthers are 2-11 when they have scored 79 or fewer points.
 
Applegate nearing Drury's Top 40
Drury guard Logan Applegate is close to cracking the program's top 40 all-time leading scorers. Applegate enters Saturday's game with 1,030 points and is ranked 42nd on Drury's all-time scoring list. He needs 5 points to pass Charlie Crosby (1952-56) for 41st, and 11 points to get by Ralph Taylor (1969-73) 40th on the all-time list.
 
About the Hawks
Rockhurst is the third-leading scoring team in the GLVC, averaging 79.9 points.
 
Jesse White leads the Hawks in scoring and ranks sixth in the GLVC, averaging 16.0 ppg, while Brian Hawthorne is averaging 15.2 points and ranks 13th in the league. White is second in the conference in three-pointers made with 69.
 
Dan Carr leads the GLVC in rebounding, averaging 9.2 boards.
