Panthers home on Saturday vs. William Jewell
The Drury Panthers host long-time rival William Jewell for Homecoming on the DU campus on Saturday at 3 pm.

The Panthers are 12-11 and 7-9 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Drury has won their last two games, including an 81-69 win on Thursday over Rockhurst.

William Jewell knocked off ninth-ranked Missouri S&T on the road Thursday with an 85-80 win in overtime over the Miners. The Cardinals are 9-14, 6-9 in the league, and have won three straight.

Saturday's game is the second meeting between the two teams this season. William Jewell won the first match-up, 78-72, over Panthers on Jan. 3 in Liberty, Mo. The Cardinals led 49-31 at halftime before Drury fought back in the second half. Kanon Gipson led Drury with 20 points in the game, while Luke Jordan had 25 and was 7 for 14 from three-point range for William Jewell.

The Panthers lead the all-time series against William Jewell 44-38 (on the court; officially, Drury is 41-38 vs. William Jewell). The Panthers are 5-4 against the Cardinals in the last five years.

After Saturday's game, the Panthers are idle until Feb. 22, when they travel to Southwest Baptist for a 3 pm game in Bolivar.

Turnover Test
The league's best team in forcing turnovers faces the GLVC which commits the fewest turnovers in the league in Saturday's game. Drury leads the conference by creating an average of 14.7 turnovers per game, but will face a William Jewell that commits a league-low 9.5 per game. Drury and William Jewell are 1-2 in turnover margin for the year, with the Panthers first in that category with a 3.2 average and the Cardinals behind them at 3.1. In the Jan. 3 game, William Jewell committed just nine turnovers to Drury's 12 in a 78-72 win over the Panthers.

About the Cardinals
William Jewell has won three straight, dating back to an 86-70 win over Southwest Baptist on Feb. 6. The Cardinals then beat Rockhurst 80-78 on Feb. 8 and Missouri S&T in overtime, 85-80, on Thursday.

Jordan Jermain leads the team in scoring and ranks second in the GLVC, averaging 21.7 points. The graduate student from Raymore, Mo., scored 45 points in a game vs. Indianapolis on Jan. 18 and had 35 last week vs. Rockhurst.

Jason Thirdkill, Jr. averages 15.9 points, seventh most in the GLVC, and he ranks seventh in rebounding, averaging seven boards per game.
