SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Former Drury Men's Basketball player, Julius Walker will make his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut on Saturday against #15 Alonzo Menifield in Seattle.
Walker is the second-ranked fighter in the US Midwest region in the Light Heavyweight class. Known as "Juice Box", Walker's last fight was December 7 as the main event in the Peak Fighting 41 Light Heavyweight Championship. Walker was the challenger against at the time champion, Myron Dennis. Walker won by KO/TKO in the first round. Walker has a pro-MMA record of 6-0-0 and has won nine straight going back to his amateur days.
At Drury, Walker played two seasons (2017-18, 18-19), during which time he averaged 7.0 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 54% field-goal shooting. He scored a career-high 25 points against William Woods in the 2018-19 season.
Julius Walker and Alonzo Menifield will fight as the first additional main card of the night at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle. The fight will be broadcast on ESPN+ at approximately 8:00 p.m. central time.
