Lady Panthers host Missouri S&T for Senior Day
Drury ends the regular season on Saturday and hosts Missouri S&T for Senior Day at 1 pm in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
Â
The Lady Panthers are 20-6, 16-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and are coming off a 62-55 win at Missouri-St. Louis on Thursday. Drury is in second place in the league standings.
Â
Missouri S&T is 15-10 and 10-9 in the GLVC. The Miners lost on Thursday at Lincoln, 61-53, and are in sixth place in the conference standings.
Â
Missouri S&T handed Drury one of their three conference losses this season when they knocked off the Lady Panthers 63-57 in Rolla on Jan. 11. Drury's 57 points have been the fewest they've scored this season, and their .310 shooting percent (22 for 71) is also their season-low. The Miners win snapped a 23-game game losing streak to Drury, but the Lady Panthers still lead the all-time series 37-4.
Â
Drury will advance to the GLVC Tournament in St. Charles, Mo., next week. If the Lady Panthers are the number two seed, they will play Thursday night; if they are seeded third, they will have a Friday night game in the quarterfinal round.
Â
20 Wins
Drury's win on Thursday was their 20th win of the season and marks the 12th year in a row the Lady Panthers have won at least 20 games. Drury has now won at least 20 games in 22 of their 25 seasons in program history.
Â
Season Marks
Two Drury players are climbing the program's single-season charts.
Â
Caitlynn Daniels has 171 assists this year and is tied for the third-most in a single season at Drury. Daniels matched her own total of 171 from last season and needs just four more to pass Daejah Bernard, who had 174 in 2019-20. Bernard also holds the single-season record with 211 in 2018-19.
Â
Makaiya Brooks has 68 three-pointers, the 13th most in a Drury single season. She is two away from Alice Heinzler's total of 70 in 2016 for 12th on the single-season chart.
Â
About the Miners
Missouri S&T is second in the GLVC in opposing field goal percentage, allowing a .363 mark from the floor and is third in points allowed (60.5 ppg).
Â
Anna Finley is 13th in the GLVC in scoring, averaging 12.9 points. Katelynn Robers leads the league in blocked shots, rejecting 2.3 per game.
Â
The Miners are poised for their best finish in the GLVC since 2011-12, when they went 16-12 and 11-7 in the league.Â
