Drury starts road win at Truman State
The Drury Lady Panthers start a two-game road trip on Thursday at Truman State. Tipoff is at 5:15 pm in Pershing Arena in Kirksville, Missouri.
 
Drury is 15-5, 11-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, and is in second place in the league standings. The Lady Panthers had a five-game winning streak snapped on Saturday when Lewis won at Drury 75-73 and took over the conference lead by a half-game over Drury.
 
Truman State is 9-13 and 6-6 in the GLVC. The Bulldogs have won four of their last five games and are coming off a 73-61 win at William Jewell on Saturday.
 
Drury has only lost to Truman State once in the all-time series and is 23-1 against the Bulldogs. The lone win for Truman State came on Jan. 17, 2022, with a 67-66 win over the Lady Panthers. Thursday's game is a rematch of Drury's 97-72 win over the Bulldogs on Dec. 7 at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
 
The Lady Panthers continue their road trip on Saturday when they travel to Quincy for a 1 pm game in Quincy, Ill. 
 
Top Offense
Drury leads the GLVC in scoring, averaging 77.4 points. The Lady Panthers rank second in the league in field goal percentage, hitting .454 from the floor. Rhi Gibbons ranks 11th in the GLVC in scoring (14.5 ppg), and Caitlynn Daniels is 13th in the league, averaging 13.3 points.
 
Anna Hitt tops 400 boards
Drury senior Anna Hitt became the 18th player in program history to reach 400 career rebounds when she surpassed the total in Saturday's game against. Lewis. HItt ranks 18th in Drury history in rebounds with 404 and needs 11 more to pass Reese Schaaf for 17th on the all-time list.
 
About the Bulldogs
Truman State's four wins in their last five games come on the heels of having dropped seven in a row. The Bulldogs have surged into a seventh-place tie in the GLVC standings with Missouri S&T.
 
Through 22 games, Truman has scored 1,545 while giving up exactly 1,545 points.
 
Jordan Cunningham leads Truman State in scoring, rebounding, and assists. The graduate student from Grimes, Iowa, and transfer from Missouri Western, ranks third in the GLVC in scoring, averaging 17.4 points.
 
Theo Dean is in his sixth season as Truman State's head coach and took over the program when then-head coach Amy Eagan took a coaching position at Drury in 2019-20.
