SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– Drury guard Caitlynn Daniels was named to the All-Midwest Region team on Thursday by the Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association in a vote of the region's college sports communicators.
 
The graduate student from Robins, Iowa, was a Second Team All-Region selection and her award marks the 11^th year in a row a member of the Lady Panthers has earned all-region honors by the D2CCA. A total of 11 players from the Midwest Region were selected to the all-region with five named to the First Team and six players were announced for the Second Team.
 
Daniels was also a First Team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference selection and was named to the GLVC All-Tournament last weekend. She led Drury, averaging 14.2 points, and her 6.4 assists per game ranked second in the conference and fifth in NCAA-II women's basketball. Daniels also averaged 6 rebounds and was tied for second in the GLVC with 2.2 steals per game.
 
She was also second in the GLVC in free throw percentage, shooting .846 from the line. Daniels shot .430 from the field and was 36 percent from the three-point line, hitting 51 threes for the season.
 
Daniels registered the program's fourth triple-double in team history and was one of only 13 players in Division II to accomplish the feat when she put up 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists on Jan. 11 at Missouri S&T. She was also named the GLVC Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 12-18.
 
The latest honor marks the first all-region selection of Daniels' career.
 
The Lady Panthers finished the season 22-7 and 17-3 in the GLVC.
