Lady Panthers and Saints Square Off Thursday in St. Louis

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Lady Panthers head to St. Louis to start a two-game road trip on Thursday against Maryville.
 
Drury is in search of their first win against Maryville on the road since the 2022-23 season and their fifth win in the last six games. Maryville will host Drury for their 1000 Saints Game as they look for their third straight win.
 
Fans may follow the action through the GLVC Sports Network (subscription required), where games will be streamed live throughout the regular season. New for the 2025-26 academic year, viewing access to GLVC regular season and postseason broadcasts will be available via monthly subscription ($30) or annual subscription ($140). Single-event access can also be purchased for $15. All Drury Lady Panthers games will also have free live audio coverage on DU All-Access.
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • Drury is 27-4 all-time against Maryville.
  • While playing in St. Louis, Drury is 11-2 against the Saints.
  • The most recent game in St. Louis was the Carsyn Fearday game. Fearday went for a Maryville record and Drury opponent record, 40 points. Despite the 40 points from Fearday, the Saints only won by two, 77-75.
  • Kaci Bailey is 2-1 in her tenure as the Lady Panthers' head coach against Maryville, 3-3 overall.
 
STORYLINES
  • Thursday's game is a meeting of the second- and third-place teams in the GLVC. The Lady Panthers (6-1) are in second, followed by Maryville (6-2) in third.
  • Drury is coming off their fourth game in the last five, keeping their opponents under 50 points after holding Lincoln to 49 points.
  • It is the most times Drury has held opponents under 50 points since the 2021-22 season, when they did so six times.
  • In conference play, the Lady Panthers rank second in defense, allowing only 55.7 points per game. They also sit second in scoring with 73.7 points per game.
  • The Lady Panthers are also holding GLVC teams to 19.1% from the three-point line, best in the league. Drury has led the GLVC in opponent three-point percentage every season under Kaci Bailey.
  • Bailey is 18-3 as the Drury head coach in January.
  • Sara Mendel is fourth in the nation in double-doubles with 10. She leads the GLVC and the Midwest region in double-doubles.
  • Mendel is only the third player in Drury history to have double-digit double-doubles in a season. She has recorded one in six straight games.
  • Mendel is second in the country in field goal percentage with 66.9%, only trailing Nyshae' Weaver (69.4%) from Indiana (PA). She is fifth in all the NCAA behind Weaver, Gracie Merkle (Penn State, 74.6%), Audi Crooks (Iowa State, 69.8%), and Meredith Mayes (Abilene Christian, 68.2%).
  • Rhi Gibbons extended her double-digit scoring streak last week to 18 games, dating back to last season. She is the first Lady Panther to score double figures in the first 14 games of the season since Paige Robinson in the 2020-21 season, when Robinson achieved this feat in all 26 games the team played that season.
  • Jazz Gray recorded a career-high in steals against Lincoln with three.
  • Against Lincoln, Audra Pasakarnis doubled her total number of three-pointers made this season. She was 2-3 from distance and now has four made threes this season. She also scored a season-high ten points in her first game off the bench.
  • Sage Stratton started her first career game against Lincoln. Stratton is the first freshman to start a game for the Lady Panthers since Haley Meely in the 2020-21 season. Meely started two games that season against Lindenwood and Missouri-St. Louis.
  • Maryville is 12-4 on the season. The Saints have won two straight and four of their last five. The lone loss came at home against Lewis, 76-60.
  • Maryville has made 14 threes in two games this season, against Arkansas-Fort Smith and Rockhurst.
  • The Saints are pulling in 38 rebounds per game.
  • Maryville is only turning the ball over 14 times a game and forcing 18.5 turnovers per game.
  • While playing at home, Maryville is 5-3 with two of the home losses coming in their four most recent home games.
  • Lindsey Schadewalt is leading the Saints offensively with 13.4 points per game.
