Lady Panthers Travel to Lebanon for Saturday Showdown with Bearcats

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Lady Panthers are finishing a two-game road trip on Saturday with a meeting with McKendree in Lebanon for a 1 pm tip.
 
Drury dropped a heartbreaker on Thursday to Maryville, 68-65. The Lady Panthers had two opportunities to tie it and send it to overtime, but were unable to get the tying score. McKendree has won four straight by an average of 26 points while scoring 81.5 points over that stretch.
 
Fans may follow the action through the GLVC Sports Network (subscription required), where games will be streamed live throughout the regular season. New for the 2025-26 academic year, viewing access to GLVC regular season and postseason broadcasts will be available via monthly subscription ($30) or annual subscription ($140). Single-event access can also be purchased for $15. All Drury Lady Panthers games will also have free live audio coverage on DU All-Access.
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • The Lady Panthers are 17-0 against McKendree all-time.
  • While playing in Lebanon, Drury is 6-0.
  • Drury is 2-0 under Kaci Bailey against McKendree.
  • Bailey has yet to coach at McKendree leading Drury. The last meeting in Lebanon was in February 2023. Drury won 81-54.
 
STORYLINES
  • Drury dropped their second GLVC game of the season on Thursday. The Lady Panthers are now one of four teams with two league losses, McKendree (6-2) being one.
  • Saturday's meeting between the league's two highest-scoring offenses. In GLVC play, the Bearcats are averaging 76.4 points and Drury 72.6.
  • The Lady Panthers have the second-best defense against GLVC opponents, allowing only 57.3 points per game. McKendree is sixth, giving up 60.3.
  • Drury also ranks at the top of the league in team field goal percentage (45.9). opponent field goal percentage (35.6). team three-point percentage (41.0), and opponent three-point percentage (21.0).
  • McKendree (14.88) and Drury (14.25) rank one and two in assists per game in GLVC games this season.
  • Following the loss to Maryville, Kaci Bailey is now 18-4 in January as the Lady Panthers head coach.
  • This season, Drury is 3-1 in the game following a loss. Under Bailey, the Lady Panthers are 12-4 following a loss.
  • The Lady Panthers dropped to 4-4 on the road this season. Drury is now 22-9 in true road games under Bailey.
  • Thursday's loss to Maryville was the first time this season that Drury lost when leading entering the final quarter. It was also the first loss when the Lady Panthers shot better than 35% from three.
  • In games decided by 10 points or less this season, Drury is 5-4. In games with a five-point or less difference, the Lady Panthers are now 4-1 with the lone loss coming to Maryville.
  • On Thursday, Sara Mendel recorded her seventh straight double-double. She has the longest active double-double streak in NCAA Division II.
  • Mendel is now fifth in single-season double-doubles at Drury with 11, one behind Melanie Oliver (2009-10) and Hailey Diestelkamp (2019-20). She is on pace for 20, which would be a Lady Panther single-season record.
  • Mendel pulled in 11 rebounds against Maryville. She now sits at 500 career. She is the 15th Lady Panther in program history to hit the 500 mark. She has pulled in 150 boards this season.
  • Rhi Gibbons extended her double-digit scoring streak on Thursday to 19 games, dating back to last season. She is the first Lady Panther to score double figures in the first 15 games of the season since Paige Robinson in the 2020-21 season, when Robinson achieved this feat in all 26 games the team played that season.
  • Gibbons assisted on six field goals against Maryville. It was a career-high and tied for the season high for a Lady Panther with Kaylee King's six-assist game at Union.
  • Freshman Sage Stratton started her second consecutive game. She is the first freshman to start two games in a season since Haley Meely in the 2020-21 season.
  • Kaylee King scored 11 points on Thursday against Maryville. She has scored at least 10 points in nine of the last 11 games.
  • McKendree is 9-5 this season and has won four straight.
  • This season at home, the Bearcats are 5-2. The two losses came to Davenport and Lewis.
  • Baylie Parks and Kyra Taylor lead McKendree. Parks has been one of the most consistent players over her three seasons in the GLVC. She is scoring 13.3 points per game and grabbing 8.3 rebounds per game this season. Taylor is coming off a GLVC all-freshman team last season. She is adding 11.9 points and 3.8 rebounds from the center position.
