SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury wrestling dropped its last two home duals of the season on Saturday, Jan. 17, falling 23-15 to Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) opponent Maryville and 31-21 to William Woods.
Against Maryville, Drury earned three major decision victories. Freshman Mason Knight shut out his opponent, winning 8-0 at 149 pounds. Gaven Bremenkamp posted a 9-1 major decision, alongside Hunter Tennison, who extended his winning streak with a 12-4 major decision win. Nate Wishne added a close 4-1 decision at 141 pounds to account for the Panthers' remaining three points.
HOW IT HAPPENED (MARYVILLE)
- Drury went down early after dropping two decisions at 125 and 133 pounds.
- Wishne earned the Panthers' first win with a 4-1 decision at 141 pounds.
- Knight battled to an 8-0 major decision at 149 pounds, putting the Panthers up 7-6.
- Maryville reclaimed the lead with a decision win at 157.
- Bremenkamp earned a huge major decision win to favor the Panthers 11-9.
- The Saints won the next three bouts to seal the win.
- Tennison closed the dual with a major decision win as the Panthers fell 23-15.
Drury looked to bounce back, but came up short against William Woods.

Brady Griffin each earned falls to earn 12 of the Panthers' points. Bremenkamp and Wishne recorded their second wins of the day with an 18-3 technical fall at 4:24 and a 16-2 major decision, respectively.

- Humphries dominated in the 125-pound matchup with a fall at 2:19.
- The Owls claimed a 17-3 major decision at 133 pounds.
- Wishne earned a 16-2 major decision to put the Panthers up 10-4.
- Drury suffered back-to-back falls at 149 and 157 pounds to trail 16-10.
- Bremenkamp got the Panthers back on track with an 18-3 technical fall.
- William Woods won three straight bouts with two falls and a decision.
- Griffin closed the day with a fall at 4:13 as the Panthers fell 31-21.
