EDMOND, Okla. – Drury's Bryson Humphries qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships after placing third in the 125-pound bracket at the Super Region IV Championships on Sunday.
 
Humphries opened the day with a 7-0 decision over McKendree's Giovanni Diaz, followed by a tight 8-5 sudden-victory decision against Karim Allal of Central Missouri. 
 
The sophomore fell in the semifinal to No. 11 Nathan Smith from Indianapolis in a 4-0 decision. 
 
Humphries fought back with a 56-second fall against Thomas More's Trevor Wilcox to reach the third-place match. The Owasso, Oklahoma, native faced Allal for the second time and won by an 8-2 decision.
 
Jeremiah Halter also earned a podium finish, defeating Quincy's MacAllistair Chamber in a 4-1 sudden-victory decision to finish fifth at 174 pounds, while Mason Knight placed sixth at 149 pounds.
