INDIANAPOLIS — Drury senior outfielder Connor Bain has earned his third Athletic Solutions Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Player of the Week award of the season after powering the Panthers to a key series win over Rockhurst this past weekend, the league office announced Monday.
Bain paced the Panthers (29-17, 20-8 GLVC) at the plate in their three-games-to-one series victory over Rockhurst, hitting .500 (6-for-12) with a home run and 10 RBIs. He matched a career high with six RBIs in a 14-3 victory that completed a doubleheader sweep of the Hawks on Saturday and registered a pair of multi-hit performances and two multi-RBI efforts in the four-game set.
Bain also tied the Drury single-season record for RBIs (62) by driving in two runs – including the go-ahead tally – in Sunday's series-clinching 9-6 win over the Hawks.
The honor is the third GLVC Player of the Week award for Bain and the sixth weekly citation for a Panther this season. A two-time All-GLVC Honorable Mention choice, Bain was chosen for the same weekly conference honor on Feb. 9 and March 30.
LOOKING AHEAD
Drury will open its final regular-season GLVC series of 2026 Thursday (April 30) evening with a 5 p.m. game against Southwest Baptist in Bolivar.
