SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) opened its 2026 STUNT Tournament on Friday (April 4). Drury went 2-1 to advance to the final day of the tournament with two wins over Ferris State.

POD 1 FIRST ROUND - (4) Drury 27, (5) Ferris State 16
Fourth-seeded Drury opened conference tournament play with a 27-16 win over fifth-seeded Ferris State, behind early execution and key scoring runs to control the matchup.

Q1 Partner Stunts set the tone immediately. Drury earned points in Rounds 1, 2, and 3, while Ferris State recorded forfeits in Rounds 2 and 4. Even with Drury not converting in the final round, the Panthers built a clear advantage by capitalizing on clean routines and opponent errors to take control early.

In Q2 Pyramids and Tosses, Drury extended the lead with points on routine four and five. Both teams scored in Round 1, but Drury followed with a two-point routine in Round 2 and another in Round 4. Round 3 resulted in a double forfeit with no points awarded, but Drury still gained separation heading into halftime with consistent scoring across the quarter.

Q3 Jumps and Tumbling brought momentum back toward Ferris State. Drury opened with a two-point routine in Round 1, but Ferris State responded by taking three of the next rounds. The exchange tightened the score, forcing Drury to respond in the final quarter.

Q4 Team Routine proved to be the difference. Drury secured key points early in Rounds 1 and 2, matching Ferris State in several heats while limiting scoring opportunities. A forfeit-heavy Round 3 resulted in no points for either side, but Drury closed strong in Round 4 with multiple scoring routines, including a two-point effort. That final push allowed the Panthers to pull away and secure the 27-16 win to advance in tournament play.

POD 1 SECOND ROUND – (1) Maryville 27, (4) Drury 14
In a second-round Pod 1 matchup, fourth-seeded Drury faced top-seeded Maryville, falling 27-14 as Maryville used consistent scoring across all four quarters to advance.

Q1 Partner Stunts was competitive early. Drury opened with a point in Round 1 and added another in Round 3, while both teams split Round 2. Maryville responded with a two-point routine in Round 4. Despite the two-point round, Drury held a 4-3 advantage entering the second quarter.

In Q2 Pyramids and Tosses, Maryville began to create separation. The Saints earned two-point routines in Rounds 1, 2, and 3, while Drury managed single points in each. A forfeit in Round 4 prevented Drury from closing the gap, allowing Maryville to extend the lead heading into halftime.

Q3 Jumps and Tumbling continued in Maryville's favor. The Saints secured two-point routines in the first two rounds, while Drury answered with single points. Maryville added two more points in the final two rounds, while Drury was unable to convert, increasing the deficit entering the final quarter.

Q4 Team Routine sealed the result. Maryville consistently scored across the early rounds, including multiple two-point routines in Rounds 1 and 2. Drury found points in select routines, but forfeits in the later rounds, limited scoring opportunities. Maryville maintained control through the final rounds to secure the 27-14 victory and advance in the tournament.

POD 1 ELIMINATION ROUND TWO – (4) Drury 27, (5) Ferris State 18
Facing elimination in Pod 1, Drury responded with a 27-19 win over Ferris State, using strong execution in key moments to stay alive in the tournament.

Q1 Partner Stunts gave Drury an early edge. The Panthers opened with a two-point routine in Round 1 and added points in Rounds 3 and 4, while Ferris State recorded forfeits in Rounds 2 and 4. Drury's ability to capitalize on those mistakes helped build an early lead under elimination pressure.

In Q2 Pyramids and Tosses, both teams traded points, but Drury maintained control. Ferris State earned a two-point routine in Round 1, but Drury responded with a two-point routine of their own in Round 2 and added points in the final two rounds. That consistency allowed Drury to hold the advantage heading into halftime.

Q3 Jumps and Tumbling brought a shift in momentum. Ferris State opened with a two-point routine in Round 1 and added another point in Round 4 after a Drury forfeit. Drury answered with strong routines in Rounds 2 and 3, including two-point efforts in both rounds, keeping the lead intact but tightening the margin entering the final quarter.

Q4 Team Routine decided the outcome. Round 1 saw multiple forfeits with no points awarded, but Drury took control in the remaining rounds.
