Panthers Sign Nine Players to 2026 Recruiting Class

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Drury men's basketball head coach Chris Foster has announced the addition of nine student-athletes to the Panthers' 2026 signing class, which includes six transfers and three prep standouts who will join the DU program in August.

The Panthers will welcome freshman forward Cale Clingan (Derby, Kan.), junior guard Caison Cole (Norman, Okla.), junior forward Elijah Edosa (Scarborough, Ont.), junior guard Christian Hughes (Kirkwood, Mo.), freshman forward Matija Medic (Čacak, Serbia), freshman guard Hudson Rorex (Imboden, Ark.), sophomore guard Evan Simon (St. Louis, Mo.), junior guard Judah Vignery (Platte City, Mo.), and junior forward Payton Weemer (Fishers, Ind.).
 
"I want to thank coach Sam Briscoe for all his hard work in putting together this recruiting class," Foster commented. "We addressed several key needs for our team this upcoming season. We added depth and shooting at the guard positions and strengthened our forward group with size, athleticism, and versatility. I'm excited to get these guys on campus in the fall and get to work."

Cale Clingan
Fr. | 6-9 | Forward | Derby, Kan. | Derby HS
  • Completed standout prep career for Derby (Kan.) High School.
  • 2025-26 KSHSAA Class 6A All-State honorable mention selection.
  • Averaged 15.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 2.4 blocks and 1.2 steals per game as a senior. 
  • Earned Second-Team All-Metro honors from the Wichita Eagle as a senior.
  • Named to Husky Hoops Invitational and McPherson Invitational all-tournament teams.
Foster on Clingan:
"Cale gives us size and skill on the wing. He plays with great effort on the defensive end and is an outstanding rebounder from the guard position. He has tremendous upside, and his best basketball is still ahead of him."
 
Caison Cole
Jr. | 6-2 | Guard | Norman, Okla. | Northern Oklahoma College – Tonkawa | Norman HS
  • Junior transfer from NOC – Tonkawa (2025-26).
  • Started collegiate career at UT-Permian Basin (2023-25).
  • Averaged 12.5 points per game while shooting .429 from three-point range this past season for the Mavericks.
  • Helped Norman (Okla.) High School to its first state tournament appearance in 24 years as a prep senior.
 Foster on Cole:
"Caison is a big-time shooter who can score in a variety of ways, making him a tough matchup for opposing defenses. He brings outstanding leadership and work ethic, and his scoring ability will have an immediate impact on our program."
 
Elijah Edosa
Jr. | 6-5 | Forward | Scarborough, Ont. | Rend Lake College | V3 Preparatory Academy
  • Junior transfer from Rend Lake College in Ina, Ill.
  • Second-Team NJCAA All-America selection as a sophomore.
  • Led Rend Lake to a 22-9 record and NJCAA Regional semifinal appearance this past winter.
  • Averaged 18.0 points and 9.2 rebounds per outing for the Warriors in 2025-26.
 Foster on Edosa:
"Elijah is a physical forward with guard-level skills. His versatility allows him to play multiple positions, and his motor and physicality impact the game in so many positive ways. We're excited to see what he can bring to our program."
 
Christian Hughes
Jr. | 6-2 | Guard | Kirkwood, Mo. | University of Arkansas-Little Rock | Kirkwood HS
  • NCAA D-I transfer from Arkansas-Little Rock with two years of eligibility remaining.
  • Appeared in 30 games over two seasons for Little Rock, including five starting assignments last year.
  • Two-time all-conference and all-district selection at Kirkwood (Mo.) High School.
  • Played for current Drury assistant coach Sam Briscoe at Kirkwood, helping the Pioneers to a 24-3 season in 2022-23.
 Foster on Hughes:
"Christian is a tough, hardworking player with significant Division I experience. He's an explosive athlete who can put pressure on the rim with his driving ability. Christian will be an exciting player to watch in a Drury uniform."
 
Matija Medic
Fr. | 6-8 | Forward | Čacak, Serbia | Borac Čacak U19
  • Freshman post from Serbia who will join the Panthers for his first collegiate season this fall.
  • Most recently played in the Serbian ABA League for Borac Čacak at the U19 level.
  • Played in 22 games this past season, shooting 45-percent from the floor while averaging five points and five rebounds per contest.
 Foster on Medic:
"Matija is a skilled forward who has competed at a high level in Serbia. His size and versatility fit well with our style of play. He's a good athlete who can create offense for himself and for his teammates."
 
Hudson Rorex
Fr. | 6-0 | Guard | Imboden, Ark. | Sloan-Hendrix HS
  • Three-time Arkansas All-State honoree for Sloan-Hendrix High School.
  • Selected for the 2025-26 AAA East All-Star Game in Arkansas.
  • Totaled 2,285 career points as a prep standout, including a senior year in which he averaged 24 points per contest. 
  • Also earned valedictorian laurels as a graduating senior at Sloan-Hendrix.
 Foster on Rorex:
"Hudson is a big-time scorer with over 2,000 career points in high school. He brings a strong work ethic and natural leadership qualities that have helped him win at every level he's played."

Evan Simon
So. | 5-11 | Guard | St. Louis, Mo. | Illinois Springfield | Kirkwood HS
  • Sophomore transfer from fellow GLVC member Illinois Springfield.
  • Named a First-Team All-Suburban Conference selection at Kirkwood (Mo.) High School, where he averaged 20 points and four assists per contest in 2023-24.
  • Tabbed Class 6 District Player of the Year as a senior in 2024-25.
  • Played one season under current DU assistant coach Sam Briscoe and alongside fellow Panther signee Christian Hughes, helping the Pioneers to a 24-3 campaign in 2022-23.
 Foster on Simon:
"Evan is a high-level shooter and a tireless worker. His commitment to improving every day is exactly what we want in our program. His familiarity with the GLVC will be a valuable asset, and he will be a great complement to the players around him."
 
Judah Vignery
Jr. | 6-4 | Guard | Platte City, Mo. | Iowa Western CC | Platte County HS
  • Junior transfer who played the last two seasons at Iowa Western CC.
  • Averaged 17.0 points per game while shooting 44-percent from the field this past winter.
  • Earned ICCAC Academic All-Region honors in 2024-25.
  • Selected for all-conference and all-district recognition for Platte County High School.
  • Ranked as Kansas City area's second-leading scorer as a senior, averaging 23 points per contest.
Foster on Vignery:
"Judah is a high-level scorer with the ability to score from anywhere on the floor. His size and shot-creation ability will be a strong addition to our team. He's a proven scorer at the college level, and we're excited about his future at Drury."
 
Payton Weemer
Jr. | 6-7 | Forward | Fishers, Ind. | Grand Valley State | Fishers HS
  • Junior transfer from Grand Valley State, where he played the 2025-26 season.
  • Earned all-region and all-conference honors in his two seasons at Lakeland CC., where he averaged 11 points and six boards in 2024-25.
  • Also earned all-region recognition as a freshman at Danville Area CC.
  • Played prep basketball for Fishers High School, where he helped lead his club to a conference title.
Foster on Weemer:
"Payton is a skilled forward who can stretch the floor with his shooting ability. His ability to make threes from the forward spot gives us important versatility and depth. His size and skill make him a tough matchup and elevate the play of those around him."
