GREENWOOD, Ind. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the 2025-26 Academic All-America® men's track & field/cross country teams, with Drury distance runner Tyler Harris earning First Team Academic All-America honors.
 
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-America consideration, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50. Cross country nominees must finish among the top 50 of individual performers at the NCAA regional championships, while track and field nominees must rank among the top 50 in their respective event within their NCAA region during the season.
 
The Springfield native becomes the first Drury track and field/cross country athlete to earn CSC Academic All-America honors, and is the 14th First Team Academic All-America honoree in school history.
 
Harris broke both school records in the 8,000 meters (23:51.13) and the 10,000 meters (30:39.20) this past season. His 8K record came at the GLVC Championships, where he placed second to earn All-GLVC honors. Harris later broke the 10K record at the NCAA West Regional, finishing eighth to earn All-Region honors and secure an at-large bid to the NCAA Division II National Championship. 
 
Earlier in the season, Harris earned a GLVC men's Cross Country Runner of the Week honor for his performance at the Arkansas Chile Pepper Festival, where he placed 21st in 24:36.90. The honor marked Drury's first GLVC Runner of the Week award since 2022.
 
In the classroom, the junior posted a perfect 4.00 GPA during both fall and spring semesters and maintains a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA while majoring in architecture. 
 
Throughout his career, Harris has earned three All-Region selections, four All-GLVC honors,  three Academic All-GLVC selections, two CSC Academic All-District honors, two Brother James Gaffney Distinguished Scholar awards (presented by the GLVC), and was named the GLVC Men's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year in February.
