Triathlon Takes Second Among Division II Teams, Fifth Overall at Beaver County Tri Cup

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – Drury triathlon finished fifth overall and second among NCAA Division II programs at the Beaver County Tri Cup, hosted by Duquesne, on Saturday morning.
 
Freshman Katharina Scherb led the Panthers, finishing second among Division II competitors and seventh overall with a time of 1:04:32.0. Scherb's time ranks fourth all-time at Drury in an NCAA sprint race.
 
Kristina Vestman followed, placing fifth among Division II competitors and 14th overall with a time of 1:05:22.3. Cayman Barnes was 12th among Division II competitors and 33rd overall, finishing in 1:08:01.3.
 
Eszter Vas returned to competition after suffering an injury last season and placed 14th among Division II competitors and 39th overall with a time of 1:08:59.9.
 
Defending NCAA Division II national champion Lenoir-Rhyne finished first among Division II programs with 78 points. Drury placed second with 133 points, while Indianapolis was third with 171 points.
