PREP/PREVIOUS SCHOOL...
John Caraballo, a power forward from Northwest Kansas Technical College in Goodland, Kansas joins the Panthers this season. . . The 6-foot-5, 225-pound Caraballo, a native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, averaged 9.0 points and 6.7 rebounds for a 20-13 Mavericks team under coach Jase Herl for the NJCAA Division I, Region Six member . . . He will have two seasons of eligibility with the Panthers . . . "He's just a kid that's going to come work hard every day and be physical ... He's a special kid who works his tail off," Herl said of Caraballo. . .  "He does a lot of the little things, and doesn't need plays run for him to score. He does a lot of the things that other kids don't like to do . . . we're going to miss him as much as anybody.". . . Was named Miami Dade Player of the Year 2010-11 while at Archbishop Curley-Notre Dame High School.

Caraballo will help fill the void left by the graduation of seniors Ian Carter and Mael Amenyedzi in the paint for the Panthers, who finished 28-4 and reached the NCAA-II Elite Eight this past season after claiming the D-II national championship in 2012-13.

"John is a strong forward who will be able to hold the post position, but also be able to guard multiple positions on defense," Drury coach Steve Hesser said. "Offensively, he has great feel around the basket and has the ability to make mid-range jump shots . . . Most importantly, John is a dedicated student and hard worker who will embody what it means to be a Drury Panther."
