Austin went 7-4 on the season with a 4.41 ERA in 85.2 innings, and made 14 starts on the mound…He threw a season-high eight innings in games vs. McKendree and at UMSL…Simms recorded a career-high nine strikeouts vs. Trevecca Nazarene and vs. Wayne State at the NCAA-II Midwest Regional…Austin finished third on the team with 70 strikeouts.
SOPHOMORE
Austin made 15 appearances and posted 50 strikeouts good for second most on the team . . . Had a season high seven strikeouts at Maryville on May 1 . . . Austin made 11 starts and threw 74.1 innings. . . Threw eight innings in games at Missouri S&T, at Truman State and at Maryville.
FRESHMAN
Austin made seven starts and went 4-2 on the mound for the Panthers with 14 appearances and 51.0 innings of action . . . Had a 5.82 ERA 22 strikeouts. . . Had his season high four strikeouts at UMSL (4/5/15) and posted three strikeouts in three games. . . Earned wins vs. Southwest Baptist, Missouri S&T, at William Jewell and vs. Quincy in the NCAA-II national tournament. . . Threw a season most seven innings in games vs. Southwest Baptist (3/17/15), vs. Missouri S&T (4/14/15) and at William Jewell (5/3/15).
HIGH SCHOOL
As a junior for Blue Springs South, he was 4-2 with a 2.84 ERA and helped Blue Springs to a third place finish at state in 2014. . . Â He held opponents to a .212 batting average and was named 1
st team all district, Honorable Mention All-Area, and Academic All-State. . . Â He twice earned All-Conference, All-District, All-Area and Academic All-State recognition . . . This fall he threw for the KC Prodigy where he showed he has a very bright future.Â
