Byron Hagler

Byron Hagler serves as the assistant pitching coach for the Drury Panthers and returned to the DU after retiring from full-time coaching after the 2014 season. He will enter his 10th year with the program overall in 2020. 

Hagler was a part of the Panthers inaugural season in 2007 and during his time as Drury's pitching coach, he helped Drury to two GLVC championships and three NCAA-II tournament appearances.
 
In 2014, his pitching staff compiled the second-best earned run average in the conference at 2.64, and they led the league in strikeouts with 353 in 463 innings for a team that finished 44-13.
 
Before his arrival at Drury, Hagler was one of the top high school baseball coaches in the Ozarks and compiled a 571-188 career record in 28 seasons. At Springfield-Hillcrest, his Hornets went 21-5 and advanced to the Class 4 state semifinals in 2006. Hagler went 223-94 at Hillcrest winning seven Ozark Conference championships and four district titles. He also logged 15 years at Licking High School going 348-94 with 13 district championships and two state titles.
