Tommy Hager will enter his second year at Drury University as an assistant baseball coach in 2020. He primarily works with Drury hitters and coaches the Panthers outfielders in addition to assisting with the pitching staff. In his first year at Drury, he helped the Panthers post the third-best batting average in the GLVC as the squad hit .299, coached First Team All-GLVC outfielder Clayton Engel, and saw DU earn a bid to the NCAA-II tournament with a 32-25 record.Â
A graduate of Quincy University in 2018, Hager played for the Hawks from 2015-17 after starting his collegiate career at Austin Peay. A two-way player, Hager was a pitcher, outfielder and designated hitter at Quincy and was a Second Team All-GLVC selection in 2015. He went 6-1 with a 1.85 ERA that season while hitting three home runs and driving in 20 in 38 games in the field. Hager missed the 2016 season with an injury but returned in 2017 to help the Hawks win the Midwest Regional championship and advance to the Division II World Series.
