HIGH SCHOOL
Lafal is a two-way standout for Blue Springs as a hitter and a left-handed pitcher...As a sophomore, he was 7-1 with a 1.40 ERA and three compete games, and as a junior, he went 6-1 with a 2.70 ERA in 33 innings...He was a four-time American Legion All-Star honoree and was named his conference Player of the Year last season...In 2016 Lafal was named MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, and Most Inspirational Player along with earning Second Team All-Conference honors for the second time...In American Legion ball he hit .355 at the plate and threw 57.33 innings with a 2.81 ERA and three complete games in 2016...Twice earned Price Cutter Holliday All-Tournament team honors...Was a three-time American Legion West All-Star and earned Newcomer of the Year honors in 2014 and Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2015...Lafal plans on majoring in Business... earned the 2015 Academic Award of Excellence and was named the 2015 National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists Award of Excellence...Was a member of the National Honor Society, was a 2015 Academic All-State selection, was a 2016 Academic All-State selection and was a member of the 2016 President's Education Awards Program.
