Son of William and Rhonda Byers.

FRESHMAN

Played in 14 games and started at Pittsburg State (4/25/12) as a catcher. . . Max hit .250 with three hits on the season, two RBIs and scored two runs. . . Had hits at Pittsburg State (4/25/12), vs. Augustana (3/11/12) and vs. McKendree (3/3/12). . . Scored runs at Illinois-Springfield (4/7/12) and vs. McKendree (3/3/12).

PREP/PREVIOUS SCHOOL...
Max transfers to Drury from Trinity University in Texas and played his high school ball at Rock Bridge High School in Columbia. . . At Rock Bridge he caught the second pick in the MLB draft. . . He was an Under Armour Preseason All-American in 2010, All-District three times (2008, 2009 and 2010) and twice earned All-Area honors. . . He earned All-State Coaches honors in 2009 and All-State Media honors in 2010. . . Was the Offensive MVP in 2010 for Rock Bridge and in 2009 he was on the Missouri Sunbelt and MO Midwest Classic Team. . . Is the Rock Bridge season doubles leader, is second in career home runs and RBIs, ranks fourth for most RBIs in a season and is third all-time for hits in a career. . . Played in the Senior East/West All-Star Game in 2010. . . At Trinity University he earned Metro Collegiate League All-Star honors in 2011. . . Helped Rock Bridge to their first ever #1 national ranking in 2010 and first ever top 50 ranking as they were ranked #39. . . They won back to back District titles in 2009 and 2010, the first time a Rock Bridge team had ever done that and made their first ever final four appearances in 2009 and 2010. . . As a team they had the second highest grade point average in the state and they finished the year with a 24-3 record in 2010, best ever by a Rock Bridge team. . . The team set five records in 2010 and also had their first ever back to back Sectional Championships in 2009 and 2010. . . Was a UN Honorable Mention Best Delegate, Personal Finance Challenge District Champion, on the B+ Honor Roll and the Debate Team at Rock Bridge.
