Set the Drury season record with 82 hits, which led the GLVC and was 10th nationally and led the GLVC in hits per game (1.55) with a season best 14 game hitting streak . . . Led Drury in steals 18-of-19 and was 99th nationally in total steals and 131st nationally in steals per game .36 . . . His 18 steals were third most for a single season . . . The 15th toughest ranked player in the nation to strikeout Nick struck out only nine times in 180 at bats. . . Thimesch was second on the team with 10 steals and stole two bases vs. McKendree (3/4/12). . . Nick was second on the team with 60 hits and had a career high four hits twice in games at Missouri S&T (4/18/12) and vs. Missouri S&T (4/3/12). . . Had three hits in a game 10 times. . . Hit .333, fourth best on DU and had 26 RBIs with a career high four vs. Quincy (4/1/12). . . Scored 31 runs and matched his career high with three vs. McKendree (3/4/12). . . Was fifth on the team with a .392 on base percentage and had a ..383 slugging percentage. . . Ranked 50th in the nation for sacrifice bunts. . . A Third Team All-GLVC selection, Nick matched a Drury season record with 48 runs scored which ranked tops in the GLVC and 93rd best in the nation. . . Scored a season high three runs vs. Pittsburg State (5/3/11). . . His 16 stolen bases were fourth most for a season by a Panther and his 68 hits were fifth most in the GLVC. . . His 17 game hitting streak was third most in the Panther record books. . . His 23 stolen base attempts tied a season record and his 216 at bats placed him second all-time by a Panther for a season and third most in the GLVC for 2011. . . Had a season high three hits in seven games and scored two runs in nine different games. . . Posted two RBIs vs. Missouri S&T (5/13/11) in the GLVC Tournament and also had two RBIs vs. Rockhurst (4/8/11). . . Was walked twice in games vs. Illinois-Springfield (4/22/11) and vs. Kentucky Wesleyan (3/19/11). . . Stole a season high two bases vs. Illinois-Springfield (4/22/11) and at Oakland City (4/3/11). . . He hit .315 and started all 54 games while recording 13 walks, 12 RBIs and 10 doubles. . . A native of Marshalltown, Iowa, Nick was a First Team All-State selection, First Team All-District and a two-time First Team All-Conference selection. . . He was a Second Team All-Conference selection in 2008 and a Second Team All-District selection in 2008 and 2009. . . Was selected to the 2010 Iowa Baseball All-Star Series and was MVP for large schools West team for the four day series. . . Received the Lanny Peterson Award from the Iowa Baseball Coaches Association which also meant he was the team captain of the All-State Academic First Team. . . Thimesch helped Marshalltown to a 2008 State Runner-Up finish and in 2009 Marshalltown was a State Quarterfinalist. . . Nick also competed on the track team where he was a member of the 2010 State Champion Distance Medley Relay team that posted the seventh best time in the nation. . . Was a Third Team All-State wide receiver on the football team that finished as state runner-ups and went 13-1. . . In 2010 he was a Second Team All-Conference selection on the basketball team. . . Graduated with a 4.0 grade point average and was the class valedictorian, Student Rotarian and a member of the National Honor Society. . . Was Academic All-State in baseball, football and basketball.
