Missouri State-West Plains standout Teddy Simniok, 6-foot-7, 230-pounds, is a native of Forsyth, Mo., and was a key figure for the Grizzlies the past two seasons, helping MSU-WP become the nation's top-ranked junior college team at one point in
2010-11. . . Simniok, a forward, averaged 8 points and 4.7 rebounds for a balanced MSU-WP squad, but earned All-Region XVI honors for playing his role to perfection with the Grizzlies, who finished 31-4 on the season. Simniok, who had a 10-point, 15-rebound effort in the opener of the NJCAA national tournament, was second in the region in FG percentage at 65 percent. . . "Drury is getting a GREAT one," Grizzlies coach Yancey Walker said of Simniok. . . Simniok played his prep ball for Riverview Bible Baptist Christian out of Forsyth, where he averaged 19.1 points and 10.2 rebounds as senior in leading his squad to a National Christian Educators Association championship playing for coach James Holvick and alongside his twin brother, Nathan, who missed this past season due to injury at MSU-WP and has another season of eligibility remaining with the Grizzlies.
