Scored a season high 12 points  and pulled down a season best 13 boards vs. Wisconsin-Parkside (2/13/14) and had eight points in games at Quincy (1/30/14) and vs. Rockhurst (1/16/14) . . .Scored 104 points for a season average of 3.5 ppg . . . Had four rebounds in three games and finished the season with 56 . . . Had a season high five assists in the Midwest Regional opener vs. Wisconsin-Parkside (3/15/14) and had four assists vs. Webster (11/8/013) . . . Recorded 39 assists on the season . . . Wendell has his season high of five steals at Quincy and had three steals vs. Parkside (2/13/14) . . . Had four blocked shots . . . PREP/PREVIOUS SCHOOL...
Pierre, originally from Port Arthur, Texas, was the smooth floor general for a Brown Mackie team that finished 29-6 and qualified for the NJCAA Division II national tourney . . . He averaged 12.0 points, 6.5 assists and 4.3 rebounds this past season for third ranked Brown Mackie . . . He shot 58 percent from the field, including 57 percent from 3-point range (12 for 21), and had single-game highs of 26 points, nine rebounds (twice) and 12 assists . . . Finished his sophomore season ranked eighth in assists and 11th in steals in the national junior college ranks . . . Brown Mackie was 20-12 his freshman year, when Pierre averaged 9 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds . . . Played for Coach Terrell Henderson at Memorial High School in Port Arthur, Texas . . . "Wendell is a big, strong, true point guard," Hesser says of the floor general who had drawn the interest of several NCAA D-I programs. "He really passes it well and can create for his teammates. He's a point guard with some power who can take it where he wants to go."
