CAREER
As a senior Derek helped the Panthers qualify for their first ever NCAA-II National Championship appearance...Had a top finish of 34th at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships in the 8K (26:15)...Was 39th at the NCAA-II Midwest Regional in the 10K with a time of  32:37.51 which was the sixth fastest time by a Panther runner in a 10K race...Junior season he was the second Drury runner to cross the finish line at each meet he ran in during 2009 and joined Jaime Villa Zapatero on the All-GLVC team...Derek was fifth at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship (25:25.60)...Berry placed 16th at the NCAA-II Midwest Regional...Sophomore season he placed seventh at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships and earned All-GLVC honors.

SENIOR
Helped the Panthers qualify for their first ever NCAA-II National Championship appearance...Had a top finish of 34th at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships in the 8K (26:15)...Was 39th at the NCAA-II Midwest Regional in the 10K with a time of  32:37.51 which ranks sixth fastest time in a 10K race by a Panther all-time...Placed 77th at the Sean Earle Lakefront Meet.

JUNIOR
Was the second Drury runner to cross the finish line at each meet he ran in during 2009 and joined Jaime Villa Zapatero on the All-GLVC team...Derek was fifth at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship (25:25.60)...Berry placed 16th at the NCAA-II Midwest Regional...He placed 40th at the Missouri Southern State Stampede (25:10.05) and ran a 25:39.50 at the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree...Earned USTFCCA Academic All-American honors.

SOPHOMORE
As a sophomore, placed seventh at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships and earned All-GLVC honors...He placed sixth in the 5,000 meter at the GLVC Championship with a personal record time of 15:16...His time of 32:49 at the 2008 NCAA-II Regionals in the 10K ranks seventh fastest by a Panther all-time.

FRESHMAN 
Ran personal a record 8k at the Missouri Southern Stampede with a time of 26:12 in 2007-08...At the Mizzou Relays he ran a 15:40 in the 5k which broke his personal best time by over 20 seconds.

Competed at the 2006 Kentucky AAA XC State Championships where he placed fourth…At the 2007 Kentucky AAA indoor track state championships (3000m) placed second, and at the 2007 Kentucky AAA track state championships (3200m) placed sixth…Was a first team all-state honoree in 2007 and a two-time second team all-state selection…Member of 2006 All-Senior team and the Derby City Lightning (AAU)…Was a four-time academic all-state pick…Was a member of the National Honor Society.
