Kellen Mast

Kellen Mast will enter his 13th year as the Drury men's golf coach in 2019-20.

Mast led the Panthers to another strong season in 2018-19 as Drury finished fifth at the GLVC championship while two DU golfers Clayton Larsen, and Craig Stefureak, both finished tied for third on the individual leaderboard. Larsen received an individual at-large bid to the NCAA Regional tournament marking the third straight season the Panthers have advanced a golfer to the NCAA regional. During the fall season, Stefureak won The Mule Invitational highlighted by a program-record score of 65 during the tournament's second round.

In the spring of 2018, Drury won their first tournament since 2014 when they captured the title at the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational and won the 11-team event by 22 shots. DU golfer Stefureak also took medalist honors giving him his second tournament win of the season. He also earned his second consecutive trip to the NCAA-II Midwest Super Regional tournament.

Mast's Panthers posted a second-place finish at the GLVC Championship in 2017 for their best placement in the league event since joining the conference.

Drury finished third in 2011 in the GLVC Championship and posted a 12th-place finish at the NCAA-II Midwest//South Central Regional in Georgetown, Ky.

The effort by Mast's squad in the 2009-10 campaign was highlighted by a third-place finish in the GLVC Championships, a ninth place among 20 teams in the NCAA-II Super Regional, and four runner-up finishes in selected tournaments. Mast had three Panthers selected to the All-GLVC squad in post-season honors, Thomas Hay, Andrew Funk, and Kyle Martin.

Mast's Panthers finished fourth or better in six of their 10 events in 2008-09, including a victory in the largely NCAA Division I field of the Hiddenbrooke Invitational (hosted by Drake University) in Vallejo, Calif., in March. His squad would later finish second in their own Pasta House Invitational before a fourth-place finish in the GLVC Championships.

His rookie campaign with the Panthers in 2007-08 netted one tournament title, and three runner-up finishes including the GLVC Championships.

Coaching has come naturally for Mast after his years as both a competitive player and teaching pro at Highland Springs Country Club, where he served as an assistant pro at the course.

Mast  is a 1998 graduate of Springfield's Kickapoo High School, where he played golf for the Chiefs for two seasons. He later played collegiately at Cowley College in Arkansas City, Kan., and one season at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar before joining the staff at Highland Springs for the next five years.

Kellen and wife Amanda have two daughters, Brynlee (8) and Adelynn (5).
