Dustin Rich has been at the helm of the Panthers program since its inception in 2021.
In 2024, despite fielding a roster composed solely of Freshmen and Sophomores, Drury University concluded the season with a commendable record of 4-9. Noteworthy victories were secured against formidable opponents, including Nebraska, Kansas State, Dallas Baptist, and Washington University (MO).
In the preceding year, Rich orchestrated a successful recruitment drive, bringing in 18 promising prospects for Drury’s inaugural lacrosse season. Despite fielding a squad comprised solely of 18 freshmen, Drury celebrated a historic milestone by clinching their first victory in program history against North Texas. The 2023 season also saw two standout players, Goalie Ethan Rogers and Defenseman Linden Knup, earn well-deserved All-Conference Honors under Rich's guidance.
Rich's journey with the Panthers stems from his tenure at Missouri State, where he steered the Bears' club program to prominence over six seasons. During his tenure, Rich led the team to consecutive conference championships in 2017 and 2018, culminating in two appearances at the national tournament.
Earning recognition for his coaching prowess, Rich was honored as Coach of the Year in his conference on two occasions. Over the span of six years, his leadership contributed to an impressive 44-33 overall record, notably boasting a stellar 32-12 mark within the conference. Rich's coaching acumen facilitated the accumulation of over 50 all-conference awards for his players, with five garnering All-American distinctions. In 2014, his commitment to sportsmanship was acknowledged as he received the Ace Adams Sportsmanship Award from the National Intercollegiate Lacrosse Officials Association.
Before assuming the role of head coach at Missouri State, Rich served as the program's Defensive Coordinator for three seasons (2010-2012), instrumental in guiding the Bears to a commendable 23-19 record while limiting opponents to a mere 9.9 goals per game.
Hailing from Springfield, Rich's lacrosse journey began at Glendale High School, where he competed at the club level before transitioning to collegiate play at Missouri State. During his tenure as a student-athlete, Rich demonstrated leadership as a team captain for two seasons, earning recognition as a two-time all-conference selection.
Beyond his collegiate coaching endeavors, Rich has lent his expertise to the high school club level and the Junior Bears Youth League. Additionally, he holds certification as a high school lacrosse official.
Rich is an alumnus of Missouri State, graduating in 2012 with degrees in Applied Mathematics and Physics.
