Tanner Crockett is back for his second season as assistant coach of the Drury men's lacrosse team. Crockett joined Drury as an assistant lacrosse coach in the summer of 2024. The 2024-2025 school year marks his debut season in collegiate coaching.
In the 2024-25 season, the program had its best season, reaching a record of 5-5 and qualifying for the Lone Star Alliance (LSA) Conference Playoffs. The team recorded 204 points with 124 goals and 80 assists, and conceded 117 goals. The team's biggest win was against Saint Louis at home, where Drury won 19-7.
Crockett has extensive experience playing lacrosse, having competed throughout high school and in various summer leagues. He brings hands-on expertise and a deep understanding of the game to his coaching role.
Off the field, Crockett holds a degree in Mass Communications, where he developed strong skills in effective storytelling and team dynamics. He has also trained in improv comedy in Chicago, which provided him with valuable experience in quick thinking, adaptability, and communication. This distinctive combination of skills allows him to connect with players in creative ways and foster an engaging, team-oriented environment.
In his role, Crockett will focus primarily on developing defensive strategies and working closely with the defensive unit, as well as refining the skills of the team's face-off specialists.
