Doug Schranck enters his eighth year as an assistant coach for the Drury swimming & diving program in 2022-23.
Schrank helped the Drury's women's team to seven consecutive GLVC championships and an NCAA-II Runner-Up finish in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2021 (the national event was not completed in 2020). He’s also guided the men’s squad to five conference titles and four National Runner-ups.

The 2022 women’s squad produced the GLVC Swimmer of the Year, Bec Cross, and the league’s Freshman of the Year, Rafaela Raurich. The Drury men’s team also produced five national championship performances at the NCAA-II meet in Greensboro, North Carolina, including two by Karol Ostrowski, who competed for Poland in the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan in 2021. Â
The 2021 women's team produced the GLVC Women's Swimmer of the Year and the Ostrowski was selected as the men’s Freshman of the Year in the conference.Â

Schranck came to Drury after serving as a graduate assistant for Arizona State and competed for Carthage (Wisc.) at the NCAA-III level. He set school records at Carthage in the 100 and 200 Fly and was a two-time conference champion as well as a national qualifier in the 100 Fly.

He graduated from Carthage with a degree in Finance and worked in the business world for two years before going into coaching.

A native of Alton, Illinois, Schranck attended Marquette Catholic and was a three-time state qualifier as a member of the swim team.
