CAREER
Ran a best time of 4:29.16 at the Kansas/Bob Timmons Challenge. . . Placed fourth at the Harding/Bison Invitational in the 1500 Meter and was sixth in the 1500 Meter at the Missouri S&T/Dewey Allgood Invitational as a graduate student. . . Senior season Derek ran in five meets in 2011 for the Panthers with his highest finish of the season coming at the Central Missouri Mule Relays with a third place in the mile (4:28.56). . . Was 16th in the 1,500 meter at the GLVC Outdoor Championship (4:14.36). . . A First Team All-GLVC Indoor member, Derek was one of the top Panthers in the mile and placed second at the Pittsburg State Indoor Invitational (4:38.42) as a junior. . . Sophomore season Berry placed seventh at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships and earned All-GLVC honors. . . He placed sixth in the 5,000 meter at the GLVC Championship with a personal record time of 15:16.

GRADUATE SEASON
Ran a best time of 4:29.16 at the Kansas/Bob Timmons Challenge. . . Placed fourth at the Harding/Bison Invitational in the 1500 Meter and was sixth in the 1500 Meter at the Missouri S&T/Dewey Allgood Invitational.

SENIOR
Ran in five meets in 2011 for the Panthers with his highest finish of the season coming at the Central Missouri Mule Relays with a third place in the mile (4:28.56). . . Was 16th in the 1,500 meter at the GLVC Outdoor Championship (4:14.36). . . Was 16th at the Mizzou Relays in the 1,500 meter at the Dewey Allgood meet hosted by Missouri S&T with a time of 4:17.17.

JUNIOR
A First Team All-GLVC Indoor member, Derek was one of the top Panthers in the mile and placed second at the Pittsburg State Indoor Invitational (4:38.42).  Placed 10th in the mile at the Central Missouri/Mule Relays (4:36.30).  Was on the fourth place distance medley relay team in the Panthers opening 2010 meet at the Missouri Southern/Fazoli/Baymont Inn Invitational.

SOPHOMORE
As a sophomore, placed seventh at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships and earned All-GLVC honors. . . He placed sixth in the 5,000 meter at the GLVC Championship with a personal record time of 15:16.

FRESHMAN
Ran a personal record 8k at the Missouri Southern Stampede with a time of 26:12 in 2007-08. . . At the Mizzou Relays he ran a 15:40 in the 5k which broke his personal best time by over 20 seconds.

Competed at the 2006 Kentucky AAA XC State Championships where he placed fourth. . . Was a first team all-state honoree in 2007 and a two-time second team all-state selection. . . Member of 2006 All-Senior team and the Derby City Lightning (AAU). . . Was a four-time academic all-state pick. . . Was a member of the National Honor Society.
