Doug Fredrick

Doug Fredrick will enter his second year as head coach of Drury's triathlon program in 2020. He guided the team to a pair of first-place finishes in his first season in 2019 and a championship in the NCAA-II Central Regional Qualifier. His first season also saw freshman Jayme-Sue Vermaas win the individual Central Regional and she finished eighth overall at the national championship race in Arizona. 

Fredrick served as an assistant coach for Drury's team in 2018. 

As a competitive age grouper on the USA Triathlon circuit, Fredrick qualified to represent the United States at the 2017 International Triathlon Union world championships in Rotterdam, Netherlands and he is a USAT Level I Certified Coach.  

Fredrick was a five-time conference champion in track and field at the University of Missouri-Kansas City competing in hurdles and the decathlon from 1997-2000. He was twice inducted into the UMKC Athletics Hall of Fame as he was honored as an individual in 2014 and as a member and team captain of the 2000 men's track & field team that won indoor and outdoor championships in the Mid-Continent Conference.
 
Fredrick represented his fellow student-athletes serving on UMKC's National Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and served as a national representative for Division I student-athletes as a member of the NCAA Academics Eligibility & Compliance cabinet.
 
Fredrick currently runs his own law firm and serves in the Air Force Reserves as a JAG officer. He has also joined Drury as an adjunct faculty member and teaches Entrepreneurship as well as Management classes for university's business department.  Â
