Marta Stepien enters her second season with the Drury coaching staff after swimming as a Panther for two years. Before she transferred to Drury, she placed 13th in the 200 breast stroke at the 2010 NCAA Division II Championships. While at Drury, she swam her best times in all of her events and placed 11th in the 200 breast stroke and 400 IM; and 15th in the 200IM in the 2012 NCAA Division II Championships. She was also a multi-medalist at the Polish Championships in 2004, 2005 and 2007; winning gold in the 200 breast stroke at Junior Nationals and placed top 8 at Senior Nationals while in high school.
Since being at Drury she has grown as a swimmer and leader. And with the experience of having coaches from her native Poland and around the United States, she is well equipped to share the coaching duties at Drury and bring a fresh perspective to the routines. While she is a Graduate Assistant, she will also be pursuing her Master of Business Administration at Drury.
