Daughter of Larry Ward and Jeanne Amsden.
AT DRURY...
CAREER
Was a finalist for the Walter E. Byers Post Graduate Scholarship her senior season, which means she made the final three...Graduated with a 3.96 grade point average in Biology/Chemistry...Among other academic honors Kelsey received were the Judge Walter White Award for a freshman who achieves a 4.0 grade point average, the Chemistry Department's Outstanding Freshman award and was a four-time College Swim Coaches' Association of America Academic All-American (CSCAA)...Named GLVC Woman of the Year in 2010-11 which honors female student athletes who have distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in academic achievement, athletic excellence, community service and leadership...Was nominated for NCAA Elite 88 junior and senior years...Swam on three National Champion Swimming teams those being 2009, 2010 and 2011...The Panthers finished second her freshman season in 2008...Earned All-American honors 19 times nad won nine national titles, five of those were national record times...As a senior she had three top ten finishes at the 2011 NCAA-II National Meet with a sixth place finish in the 200 Free and a pair of ninth place finishes in the 50 Free and the 100 Free...Was on the National Champion 400 Free Relay team and was on a second place 400 Medley Relay team that broke the Drury team record with a time of 3:42.21 and also was on the second place 200 Free Relay in 2011...Junior season she was on the NCAA-II record breaking 400 IM Relay team (3:42.27) and was on the first place and national record breaking 400 Free Relay team (3:21.28)...Ward was also on the 200 IM Relay and the 200 Free Relay teams that finished second in 2010...Sophomore season she was on the 200 Free and the 400 Free Relay teams that set national records...Finished 14th in the 50 Free at the 2009 NCAA-II National Championship meet...As a freshman Kelsey was on three national championship relay teams at the 2008 national meet in the 200 Medley, 200 Free and 400 Medley Relay teams.
SENIOR
Had three top ten finishes at the 2011 NCAA-II National Meet with a sixth place finish in the 200 Free and a pair of ninth place finishes in the 50 Free and the 100 Free...Was on the National Champion 400 Free Relay team and was on a second place 400 Medley Relay team that broke the Drury team record with a time of 3:42.21 and also was on the second place 200 Free Relay.
JUNIOR
Kelsey was a huge part of the Drury women's NCAA-II National Championship team in 2010...She was on the NCAA-II record breaking 400 IM Relay team (3:42.27) and was on the first place 400 Free Relay team...Ward was also on the 200 IM Relay and the 200 Free Relay teams that finished second...She had a top finish individually of 11th in the 50 Free.
SOPHOMORE
Was on the 200 Free and the 400 Free Relay teams that set national records...Finished 14th in the 50 Free at the 2009 NCAA-II National Championship meet.
FRESHMAN
Was on three national championship relay teams at the 2008 national meet in the 200 Medley, 200 Free and 400 Medley Relay teams.
PREP...
Was a four time state qualifier and finalist at sectionals in the 50 and 100 Free...Is a GAC record holder in the 50 and 100 Free which she set in 2004-06...Was the MVP her senior season at American School of Vienna.
