AT DRURY
2017-18
Ben, a two year starter for Drury, completed his best season in college wrestling with a 19-15 record, going 9-5 in duals during the 2017-18 season. Melton placed 4
th in the Dan Harris Open before placing 2
nd in the Drury Open in December. Ben helped the Panthers to dual meet victories against University of the Ozarks, Truman State, University of Central Missouri and Ouachita Baptist University as he claimed individual wins in all of those duals. Melton finished his season dropping a pair of hard fought matches in the NCAA Division II Super Regional Championships. Ben was named to the NWCA All-Academic Team for his outstanding performance in the classroom.

Ben wrestled in the HWT class for the Panthers in the 2016-2017 season...placed 3
rd at the Dan Harris Open…5
th at the Pat “Flash” Flanagan Open… Melton represented the Panthers at the NCAA-II Super Regional meet…Ben posted a 4-4 record in dual meets, winning matches over Daniel Sheridan of Bellarmine, and Austin
Dovin of Truman State…went 12-17 for the season.

Melton transfers to Drury from
Maryville University where he helped the Saints to two top five finishes at the National Championships...Ben was the Freestyle state champion and was a two-time State qualifier at Nixa High School in Class 4...Was a two-time Greco State and conference champion...Was a three year
letterwinner at Nixa...Helped Nixa to a pair of top 10 state finishes...He was an
Adademic All-State selection and a member of the National Honor Society...Was also on the Dean's List for two semesters at
Maryville and was an Academic All-American.
