Andrew Simmons

Andrew Simmons begins his first year with the Panthers as a graduate assistant for the 2019-20 season and is currently working towards his Master’s in Integrated Marketing Communications.
 
Simmons comes to Drury from Missouri Valley College, where he wrestled under head coach Mike Machholz from 2013-2018.
 
While wrestling for the Vikings, Andrew redshirted as a Freshman in 2014 before qualifying for the NAIA National Championships over the next four seasons (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018) Andrew became an All-American twice finishing fifth in 2017, and as a runner-up in 2018.
 
Simmons graduated from Missouri Valley with his Bachelor of Science degree in public
relations and a minor in communications in May of 2018.
 
After Missouri Valley College, Andrew took an internship with Beat the Streets Chicago in which he operated as a coach, social media marketer, and recruiter for the program that mentored inner city Chicago kids and introduced them to the sport of wrestling. Simmons also spent time with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Ukraine in which he completed mission work, helped to run a wrestling camp, and competed in a freestyle wrestling tournament.
 
Andrews hails from Palmdale, CA where he attended Highland High School and was a California Sate Placer at the CIF State Tournament as well as a CIF Divisional Champion while wrestling for Coach Stuart Young.
 
Andrew is the son of Sheryl and Jerry Wickliffe and is one of six children in his family.
