AT DRURY
2018-19
Byrd started for the Panthers at 133
lbs after redshirting during the 2017-18 season. Jake placed 3rd at the Drury Open and 4th at the Jet Invite respectively and represented Drury at GLVC Duals as well as the NCAA Regional Championships.
2017-18
As a
redshirt, Jake went 7-7 on the season as he moved up to 133 lbs. Byrd placed 3
rd at the Kaufman-Brand Open. He also wrestled 141 lbs. at the
Denker Open later in the season.
2016-17
Jake wrestled for the Panthers at
125lbs and was 3-3 in duals…Recorded varsity wins in matches vs.
Cumberlands (Ky.), Central Missouri, and Bellarmine…Byrd placed 4
th in the
Maryville/Kaufman Brand Open…finished the year 8-11.
HIGH SCHOOL
Placed fourth at Missouri State Wrestling Championships and was a three-time District finalist while at Jackson High School...Three-time
SEMO Conference Champion, four-time state qualifier and posted fifth most wins in school history (155)...Helped Jackson to undefeated marks in dual competition from 2014-16, two District titles and three
SEMO Conference titles.
