SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— With Drury's 6-1 win over Upper Iowa on Friday, Panthers head coach Jerry Breaux earned the 800th win of his collegiate coaching career. Breaux is one of only 34 head coaches outside of NCAA-I in the 800-win club.

Breaux is in his third season at Drury and his 27th year overall. He guided Evangel University from the infancy of the program in 1993 through 2015, going 640-382-2 winning 10 conference championships, nine NAIA regional appearances, and the NAIA World Series in 2006. Breaux then took over the program at Louisiana State-Alexandria and built a dominant team that went 99-22 in two years, won the league championship in both seasons, and posted a 27-1 conference record in 2017. The team reached the NAIA World Series that year, finishing third in the country.

With the Panthers, Breaux has helped turn around a program as he guided the Panthers to program-record 36 wins in just his second season, and Drury won their first-ever games in the postseason last year going 2-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament.

Breaux is a member of the Evangel Athletics Hall of Fame, has been named Coach of the Year in his conference six times, and he's been the NAIA regional Coach of the Year twice.
