LEBANON, Ill. – The 25
th ranked Drury men's soccer team defeated McKendree 2-0 for a GLVC shutout victory here on Sunday.
Drury is now 10-2 overall and 8-2 GLVC and McKendree falls to 3-7-2 overall and 3-6-1 I the GLVC.
Charles Guelly netted his fourth goal of the year and the game winner at the 28:09 mark to give the Panthers an early 1-0 lead over McKendree.
Nick Ammann sealed the game with a goal, his sixth of the season, at the 84:26 mark for the 2-0 victory assisted by
Shane Woods.
Drury edged the Bearcats with 15 shots to 14 and the Panthers took three corners while McKendree had four. Drury posted an 11 to five advantage on shots on goal. Ammann took a team high four shots for Drury and
Ben Bruce and
Jack Mathis each got off three shots.
Logan Ponche registered his fifth shutout on the year and had five saves for Drury and Scott Armistead recorded nine saves in goal for the Bearcats.
Next up for the Drury men's soccer team will be a GLVC home contest vs. Southern Indiana on Friday, October 17
th at Harrison Stadium/The Curry Sports Complex set to start at 7:30 p.m.
