The Drury women's soccer team scored three first half goals for a 3-1 victory over Missouri S&T in their regular season finale Wednesday at Harrison Stadium/The Curry Sports Complex.
Drury is now 10-4-3 overall and 8-4-3 in the GLVC and Missouri S&T falls to 8-9 overall and 8-7.
The Panthers finished the regular season as the No. 5 seed and will visit fourth-seed Truman State in a noon start on Sunday in Kirksville in the quarterfinals of the GLVC Championship post-season tournament. Sunday's winners will advance on Friday, November 7 to the semifinals at the site of the highest remaining seed after this weekend's play.
Mariah Gove scored her sixth goal of the season assisted by
Emily Cline (13:05) for the first of three Panther goals in the opening half. Gove assisted on a Cline goal (18:49) to make it a 2-0 DU lead. Drury wasted little time scoring their third goal for a 3-0 lead when
Ciara O'Brien scored 25 yards out at the 27:32 mark. S&T added a goal at the 85:46 mark when Sabrina Hostler scored her eighth goal of the year.
Drury and Missouri S&T each recorded eight shots.
Tina Haberberger recorded two saves in goal.
