Drury Volleyball may turn to a bit of nostalgia this weekend in an attempt to snap a three-match losing streak, when the Panthers play host to three opponents in Weiser Gym on the DU campus.
Drury (8-6, 3-6 in the GLVC) will face Great Lakes Valley Conference West leader Truman State (13-2, 9-0) at 7 p.m. Friday and Quincy (3-13, 1-8) at 2 p.m. Saturday before finishing off the three-match set against non-conference foe Southern Arkansas (8-12) at 7 p.m. Saturday, all in Weiser. The Panthers will be  playing in their former long-time home on campus due to the O'Reilly Family Event Center's unavailability, as it plays host to the 13th annual Auction Benefiting Drury Athletics on Saturday evening.
Southern Arkansas took an 8-12 overall mark - but with victories in seven of its last eight matches - into a Thursday night Great American Conference matchup at Arkansas Tech. The Muleriders will play Quincy at approximately 4:30 p.m. before taking on the Panthers at 7 on Saturday, also at Weiser.
Coach
Jenifer Bahner's Panthers dropped three road matches in GLVC play last week, falling 3-1 at Missouri S&T, 3-0 at Maryville and 3-2 at Missouri-St. Louis after posting impressive wins at The O' against Rockhurst (3-1) and William Jewell (3-0) the previous weekend.
B.J. Specht leads the Panthers with 126 kills and is second on the squad with 176 digs.
Laynie Timmons is second with 108 kills and leads DU with 50 blocks, while
Bridget Justis (221) and
Brooke Antenen (521) pace the Panthers in digs and assists, respectively. Antenen also has a team-high 13 service aces.
Drury trails Truman State 11-2 in the all-time series, but leads Quincy 11-4 and Southern Arkansas 2-0.
