ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis University took three straight sets for a 3-0 GLVC victory over the Drury volleyball Panthers here on Saturday.
Drury falls to 14-10 overall and 5-10 in the GLVC and Lewis improved to 20-5 overall and 12-3 in the GLVC. The Flyers posted the match win by scores of 25-15, 25-23 and 25-21.
Lewis took advantage of 21 Drury attacks errors while only committing 13 and used six service aces and scored points on six Panther serving errors. Lewis outhit the Panthers at the net .248 to .128 and were led by Aly Schneider who hit .529 with 10 kills and just one error in 17 attacks.
Drury was paced by
Laynie Timmons with six kills and a .308 hitting percentage while
Mina House had a team high nine kills.
Next up for the Drury volleyball Panthers will be a GLVC road match at Wisconsin-Parkside on Sunday, November 2
