Drury made seven 3-pointers in the first half to race off to a big lead and the nationally sixth-ranked Panthers downed Lyon College 75-34 in a men's college basketball exhibition game Thursday night at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
Kameron Bundy led the way with 16 points and six assists in 22 minutes, while newcomer
Lucciano Gamiz added 13 points - including a 4-for-5 effort from 3-point range - and
Cameron Adams had 11 points in 12 minutes for the Panthers, who will open the regular season Tuesday night by playing host to rival Southwest Baptist in the annual Bank of Bolivar "Highway 13 Cat Fight" at The O'.
The Panthers shot 54 percent (26 of 48) for the game, including 12 of 23 from 3-point range.Â
Drury led 44-16 at the half against the NAIA Scots from Batesville, Ark., who came in with a 3-1 mark.Â
Lyon made just 10 of 31 shots from the field (32 percent), including 3 of 17 from 3-point range.Â
Drury also claimed a 28-21 rebounding advantage, led by four each from
Mike Nwelue and
Deon Pettigrew.
Drake Patterson had five of Drury's 15 steals as the Panthers forced 22 Lyon turnovers while committing just 10 themselves.
