The guard trio of
Addy Roller,
Annie Armstrong and
Alice Heinzler scored 14 points each to pace four Lady Panthers in double-figures as No. 3 Drury rolled to a 77-59 victory over Lyon College in its final exhibition game Saturday afternoon at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
Shelby White added 10 points and joined
Sanayika Shields in grabbing a team-high five rebounds as the Lady Panthers posted their second preseason exhibition win, after having defeated Avila 107-40 last Sunday at The O'.
Armstrong added seven assists to just one turnover in her 28 minutes, while Heinzler came off the bench to give a sluggish DU offense a spark midway through the first half. Trailing 15-13 with 12:23 left, the Lady Panthers came up with a 17-0 run - including eight points from Heinzler - to turn it into a 30-15 cushion.
Drury led 42-24 at the break and played the Scots even (35-all) in the second half, as 10 Lady Panthers played at least 10 minutes each.
Drury forced 17 turnovers while committing just 11, but was outrebounded 40-30 by the Scots, who received 14 points and 10 rebounds from Elliott Taylor. Taylor Gaedtke led Lyon with 18 points.
The Lady Panthers made 22 of 52 shots (42 percent), including 11-of-23 shooting from 3-point range. Heinzler and Roller made three treys apiece.
Drury opens the season next Friday and Saturday against Colorado Christian and No. 8 Colorado Mesa in the Colorado Christian Tournament in the Denver suburb of Lakewood.
