The nationally 21st-ranked Drury Lady Panthers will wrap up a four-game Great Lakes Valley Conference road swing later this week by visiting Maryville (5:15 p.m. Thursday) and Missouri-St. Louis (1 p.m. Saturday) in St. Louis.
Coach
Molly Miller's Lady Panthers (12-3, 6-1 in the GLVC) had a nine-game winning streak snapped with last Saturday's 80-64 loss at William Jewell, a setback that dropped Drury seven spots to No. 21 in the USA TODAY Sports/WBCA Top 25 national poll released on Tuesday.
The Lady Panthers will look to bounce back against a Maryville team that's 10-6 overall and 4-3 in the GLVC after posting a 57-48 home victory over UMSL on Monday.Â
Drury will then play UMSL on Saturday; the Tritons are 7-8 overall and 3-4 in the GLVC entering Thursday's home game vs. Missouri S&T.
Maryville, which bounced DU from the GLVC Championships post-season tourney (56-55) last March in Evansville in their last meeting, is 5-1 this season at home. The Saints, coached by Chris Ellis, are led by senior guard Shelby Miller and her 15.8 points per game. Miller, averaging 19.6 points in league play, has also made a team-high 38 3-pointers. Alex Hillyer, a 6-3 junior, adds 12.5 points and 5.8 rebounds, and Jordynn Martin, a 5-9 junior, is adding 11.9 points per game. Maryville receives 9.1 points and a team-high 8.8 rebounds from Jade Rogers, a 6-0 junior.
Drury leads the all-time series with Maryville 8-3 after last season's split, which included an 89-83 win for the Lady Panthers at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
Annie Armstrong leads three Lady Panthers scoring in double-figures with 14.1 points per game.
Sanayika Shields adds 12.4 points and a team-high 9.1 rebounds, while
Addy Roller contributes 10.9 points per game.
