RENSSELAER, Ind. - The nationally 16th-ranked Drury Lady Panthers will look to start 3-0 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play on Sunday when they take on some familiar faces with a visit to Saint Joseph's for a 1 p.m. tipoff.
Coach
Molly Miller's Lady Panthers improved to 8-2 overall and 2-0 in the GLVC with Friday night's 78-56 victory at Indianapolis, where Drury led just 29-28 at halftime before putting together a big second half.
Addy Roller led three Lady Panthers in double-figures with 17 points, while
Heather Harman matched her career high with 13 points and
Sanayika Shields had 12 points.
Next up for DU is Saint Joseph's, which moved to 4-7 overall and 1-1 in the GLVC with a 60-55 victory over Missouri S&T Friday night in Rensselaer. The Pumas are in their second season under head coach Steve Harold - who guided Drury for six seasons (2007-13) before joining SJC, and picked up his 400th career coaching win with a triumph over Malone on December 19 - and feature two former Lady Panthers in senior point guard Katie Harold and 6-0 redshirt sophomore forward
Kalea Parks. Parks was the GLVC Freshman of the Year for Drury in 2012-13 before sitting out last year as a transfer within the league.Â
Parks is averaging 18.7 points and 6.2 rebounds, while Harold has started all 11 games and is adding 4.2 points and 2.4 rebounds. Senior guard Kiki Wilson has returned from an eight-game absence due to injury to average 17.3 points in three games of action, while Courtney Kvachkoff, a 5-9 junior, adds 12.5 points and 5.0 rebounds.
Annie Armstrong averages 13.7 points to pace three DU players scoring in double-figures. Shields adds 12.0 points and a team-high 9.5 rebounds, while Roller contributes 10.7 points per game.
Drury leads the all-time series with the Pumas 9-0, including a 97-65 victory last season at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
