Traditional Great Lakes Valley Conference and NCAA-II powers Southern Indiana and Drury will do battle once again when the Screaming Eagles and Panthers square off in an 8 p.m. tipoff Thursday night at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.

Coach Steve Hesser's Panthers (8-3, 2-1 in the GLVC) will face a stiff test to their current 31-game winning streak at The O' when Southern Indiana (9-1, 2-0) comes calling on one of two "Educator Appreciation Days" this week. For Thursday's contest and Saturday's 3:15 p.m. visit from Bellarmine, all area teachers and school administrators at any level, as well as their families, will be admitted for free with a valid school ID presented at the O'Reilly Center ticket window.

The Panthers picked up a split of GLVC road tests last weekend, falling 74-57 at currently fifth-ranked and unbeaten Indianapolis last Friday  before bouncing Saint Joseph's 82-58 on Sunday.

Coach Rodney Watson's Screaming Eagles will be playing their first road game of the season after amassing an 8-0 record already at home. USI's lone setback came to unbeaten Florida Southern by a 91-80 score on December 12 in Louisville, Ky. Southern Indiana defeated William Jewell 86-48 and Rockhurst 75-64 last weekend in Evansville.

Gavin Schumann, a 6-2 senior, is averaging 20.5 points to lead the Screaming Eagles, who receive 17.3 points and 8.7 rebounds from 6-6 junior George Edwards and 13.9 points from TeNaie Roland, a 6-0 senior.

Junior guard Kameron Bundy averages 18.2 points, senior forward Cameron Adams adds 16.3 points and 4.6 rebounds and senior forward Mike Nwelue adds 12.5 points and a team-high 5.7 rebounds for the Panthers.

Drury trails USI 10-7 in the all-time series, including a split of two meetings last season. The Panthers scored a 64-56 victory in Evansville during the regular season, but the Screaming Eagles gained revenge with a 75-57 downing of DU in the GLVC Tournament semifinals, also in Evansville. This will be USI's first trip to play the Panthers in The O'.

Thursday's game can be heard on JOCK 98.7 FM (streamed live at www.jock987.com), and can be viewed in a free, live webcast at www.drurypanthers.com/watch.
