ST. LOUIS - The Drury men's soccer team played to a 1-1 GLVC tie at Missouri-St. Louis in what was their third straight double overtime contest Friday.
Drury is now 3-4-2 overall and 3-2-2 in GLVC play and UMSL moves to 4-3-2 overall and 3-2-2 in the GLVC.
The Tritons scored an early goal at 3:31 by DJ Bedner off a long cross in the box and held that lead until late in the contest when
Matt Clarkin scored off a
Julien Chevy assist for Drury at the 70:49 on a cross in the box.
Drury held the offensive edge in the contest outshooting the Tritons 17-10 including four shots in the second overtime. The Panthers also held a 4-2 margin over UMSL on corner kicks.
Charles Guelly took a team-high four shots and Clarkin and
Pierre Villez each had three shots.
Up next for the Drury men's soccer team will be a GLVC road contest at Maryville on Sunday set for 2:30 p.m.
