Kameron Bundy scored 40 points and
Tevin Foster added 23 points as Drury outlasted Missouri Baptist 99-92 in overtime in their exhibition men's basketball game Friday night at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
Bundy hit 14 of 15 free throws and added eight rebounds, six 3-pointers and three steals in 43 minutes as the Panthers escaped with the win over the NAIA Spartans. Foster, in his first (unofficial) game in a Panther uniform, added six rebounds, six assists and six steals to his 23-point total.
Freshman
Grant Boswell had 11 points in 10 minutes, including a pair of big free throws late in regulation to help send it to OT, and freshman
Allen Hyatt grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.
Stephen Buckner had 26 points and former Panther
John Caraballo added 16 points and six rebounds for the Spartans of first-year head coach and Ozarks' native Matt Brock.
The Panthers will open the season next Friday when they take on Southwestern (Kan.) College in a 7:45 p.m. tipoff that follows a Lady Panthers game vs. Lyon College (5:30). It's the second annual "Service Day" at Drury, with all current or former members of the Armed Forces, police, fire, EMT or Highway Patrol - and their families - are admitted for free by presenting ID at the O'Reilly Center box office.
