*THE MATCHUP: Drury (3-2) will play at Missouri-St. Louis (3-2) in the Great Lakes Valley Conference opener for both teams at 7:30 p.m Thursday at the Mark Twain Building on the campus of the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

*RADIO/TV/INTERNET: The game can be heard on JOCK 98.7 FM, and online at www.radiospringfield.com. A free, live webcast will be available at www.umsltritons.com/watch

*ABOUT THE PANTHERS: Drury, No. 5 in last week's NABC Top 25 national poll, had a tough weekend in their own Elliott Lodging Properties Thanksgiving Classic, dropping a 72-70 decision on a last-second shot by Cameron University on Friday, then falling 75-54 on Saturday to unbeaten Union (6-0), after battling back to trail just 44-43 with 12 minutes to play. Drury got 21 points each from Kameron Bundy and Tevin Foster on Friday, but then had Bundy (17 points) as the only Panther to reach double-figures on Saturday.

*SCOUTING UMSL: The Tritons are off to a 3-2 start with victories in their last three outings after opening with losses to regional foes Ferris State (80-55) and Grand Valley State (63-57) in Allendale, Mich. UMSL defeated 74-58 in its most recent outing, last Tuesday at the Mark Twain Building. Brandon Marquardt, a 6-2 senior, and Joseph English, a 5-11 junior, average 11.0 points to lead the Tritons of third-year coach Bob Sundvold.

*THE SERIES: Drury leads the all-time series 18-7, including an 80-75 overtime victory at UMSL last regular season and a 70-65 overtime win over the Tritons in the GLVC Championship tourney quarterfinals in St. Charles.

*ABOUT THE PANTHERS: Senior consensus All-America guard Bundy is averaging 20.0 points per game and Foster is adding 18.4 points per game to lead the Panthers. Freshman Douglas Moore averages 5.5 rebounds and junior Nadir Alston adds 5.2 boards per game to pace DU, which has not lost three consecutive games under Coach Steve Hesser since falling to Kentucky Wesleyan, Southern Indiana and Bellarmine midway through the 2011-12.

**HESSER CLOSING IN ON 250: Drury head coach Steve Hesser, now in his 12th season at the helm of the Panthers and the winningest coach in the program's history, is now 247-90 (a .737 winning percentage) in his DU and collegiate coaching career. That includes an 83-19 record dating back to the start of the 2012-13 season, when the Panthers went on to finish 31-4 and claim their first NCAA-II national championship. His DU squads have also captured two of the past three GLVC Championships and made three consecutive NCAA-II tourney appearances in that stretch. Hesser's Panthers are 2-1 this season in games decided by five points or less, continuing his outstanding trend in that regard: In 12 seasons, Hesser's Panthers are 62-27 (.701 win percentage) in that scenario, including 25-8 (.774) since the start of the 2012-13 campaign.

*ON DECK FOR THE PANTHERS: Drury will visit Maryville for a 3 p.m. GLVC matchup on Saturday in Chesterfield, Mo., before take a few days off for final exams next week. The Panthers will resume play with a GLVC game at Missouri S&T on Saturday, December 12 (3 p.m.), then head to Las Vegas to play No. 15 Angelo State and top-ranked Tarleton State in the South Pointe Holiday Hoops Classic December 18-19.
